If you look at e.g.

	http://search.cpan.org/dist/DBI/

you can see that the latest is 1.52.

the location of that dist is:

	${CPAN_MIRROR}/authors/id/T/TI/TIMB/DBI-1.52.tar.gz

find the dist for the version you want, and ask CPAN to install e.g.:

	T/TI/TIMB/DBI-1.48.tar.gz

of course, changing the author directory and dist name as necessary.
